Walnut Slab Desk

Here’s the latest incarnation of my work space.  The desktop is a walnut slab with a living edge that I sanded smooth and finished with seven coats of wipe-on poly.  Stainless steel legs bring it to desk height.  I keep the desktop clear of everything except an iMac, a pair of speakers, and a morning cup of coffee.  An articulated keyboard tray brings the keyboard and mouse off the desktop down to a more wrist-friendly height.

Interesting to see that you have the version of the keyboard without the numeric keypad.

Obviously, that’s the wireless version, not the new wired one that was announced yesterday, but I’m curious to know if you ever miss the number pad, home keys etc.

I’ve got the same mouse, fantastic thing, but have you considered that it would be better, ergonomically, to place the mouse right next to the keyboard?

Apparently, not having to stretch your arm so much to the right prevents that aching sensation many people get at the top of their arm after prolonged bouts of computing.

Always. I hate clutter. My wife will put things on it to make me crazy. :-)
