20,000 dead in Iran Earthquake

December 27, 2003
by Ryan Boren

I’ve been waiting to talk to my Iranian friends before posting on this. Luckily, nobody I know lost family in the earthquake that has claimed 20,000 lives and destroyed ancient treasures. Some before-and-after photos of the devastation can be seen at Persian Blogger Chronicles, Blog Iran, and the Iranian Students’ News Agency. Iran Filter has lots of coverage and points out donation pages at The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the National Iranian American Council.
